Step 1: Inspect Equipment & Safely Restore Power

Before touching your water chemistry, inspect your pad and pool equipment for electrical hazards or mechanical blockages:

Check the Breaker: If lightning or power surges occurred during the storm, verify that your pump breaker hasn’t tripped.
Clear Skimmer Baskets First: Remove large palm fronds, tree branches, and heavy dirt clods from skimmer and pump baskets before powering up the circulation pump. Running a pump starved of water flow can burn out the motor seal.
Inspect Air Intake & Motor Cover: Clear dust accumulation and windblown leaves away from the pump motor air vents to prevent overheating.
